for the residents living there to enjoy.
The pupils all did Mrs McKenzie proud as they smiled
and sang a number of harvest pieces.
The Rev Henderson thanked all the children for taking
part and commended them for all the hard work they had
put into the harvest service which everyone had enjoyed.
Mrs Mayne (principal of the school) thanked everyone
for coming and the children for taking part. She also
thanked Mrs McKenzie for preparing the children for

Chernobyl Appeal
Saturday the 25th October was a very important date
in Caledon for two local ladies Mrs Bridget Wray and
Mrs Kathleen Wray and for 10 Chernobyl orphans who through
the hard work of these two ladies will enjoy a holiday
for two weeks locally at Christmas.
The ladies needed to raise £2,500 to bring the
10 orphans over and although the night was a great success
and the venue The Corner House Bar was full for the
supper dance, the sum raised fell just short of the
target of £2385.
A visitor on holiday from America, Mr Jim Young, offered
to attempt to do one hundred and fifteen press up if
each one would put a £1 coin in their glass.
Pausing slightly around the one hundred mark he was
greatly encouraged by the crowd to keep going joined
by Catrina Shevlin who joined him on the floor out of
the crowd attending. To make sure he didnt give
up she herself did around fifty press ups for this very
worthwhile cause.
The current All Ireland Irish Dancing Champion Kera
Davidson from Brockagh also put on a fine display of
Irish Dancing much to the enjoyment of everyone attending.
Mr Cushbard Donnelly arrived with Sam Maguire.
The final total for the fundraising event was the grand
total of £2,615 which both Bridget and Kathleen
are delighted to give to the Christmas Appeal and wish
to thank most sincerely each and everyone for their
generosity and attendance off the night.
