Advertising Manager
- Essential Criteria
- Previous sales experience
- Previous managerial/supervisor experience
- Ability to meet targets/deadlines
- Ability to manage and motivate staff
- Full driving Licence/use of a car
- Good spoken and written English

- Good local knowledge of the commercial area covered by The Ulster Gazette

Advertising Manager - Job Description
As Advertising Manager, the Employee will be required to fulfil all duties commensurate with this position in a professional manner, which duties include but are not limited to the following:
- fulfil the role of Advertising Managing by working on the advertising aspect of the newspaper
- organise and manage the advertising department including reporting to personnel
- responsibility for all selling of advertising in the newspaper, in association with the advertising staff, above the stated minimum rates.
- co-ordination with advertising teams throughout the Group and generation of ideas for all Group publications
- act professionally at all times in dealing with customers/clients of the Company
- comply with all direction from the Group Advertising Manager and/or such persons that may be designated by the Board
- maintaining the ethos and advertising philosophy as directed by the Group Advertising Manager
- responsibility for preparing page plans for advertising within the newspaper layout
- responsibility for achieving and where possible exceeding target sales as set by the Group Advertising Manager and the Board
- Any advertising that has been received must be completed and ready to be handed over to production prior to leaving work.
- organisation and attending at all advertising meetings, as requested
- co-ordination with advertising teams throughout the Alpha Newspaper Group (the 'Group') and generation of ideas for all Group publications
- ensure that The Ulster Gazette advertising team work in a manner that is effective and efficient
- to take photographs for advertising / marketing purposes.
- ensure delivery of advertising to deadline
- abide by the accounts black list policy
- maintain a customer relations database
- complying with all advertising requests of the Group Advertising Manager and/or such persons that may be designated by the Board
- produce weekly lists of contact details for front-office staff to do tele-sales.
- ensure provision of reception/switchboard duties for leave cover
- attend and/or organise promotional/marketing events, as directed by the Group Advertising Manager or the Board including their representatives.
- Organise competitions/promotions at the direction of the Group Advertising Manager.
- make every effort to promote the interests of the Company and the Group
- any other tasks identified by senior management which are conducive to the effective operation of your role
